“We cannot create observers by saying ‘observe’, but by giving them the power and the means for this observation and these means are procured through the education of the senses.”

Maria montessori

We all know people in our workplace who seem to have a lack of awareness of one or more of their five senses.

In Lesson 2, we link brain science to our five senses, which is how we grow in awareness. You might think this is intuitive, but it takes practice.

The video uses our sight and hearing senses. Let’s try using some other senses: run your hand through some cold water, and notice how it feels. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to your vegetable saute and see how it tastes.

Often, intentionally focusing on using our senses creates a sense of ease and calm.

When you finish the lesson, please be sure to complete the evaluation. Lay it all on us!

Weekly Practice

  • Meditate for 5 days this week. You can choose from the two meditations we have taught you or you can simply sit for 10 minutes.
